A home theater provides a great way to enjoy watching movies in the comfort of your Tucson home. If you live in a small home or only have a small space available, you can still set up one of these theaters. You might have to make different choices regarding the equipment you use, but you can have a small home theater. Keep the following tips in mind for creating your own theater.
Choose and Mount a TV
Home theaters often have a projector, which allows people to watch movies on a big screen. These projectors usually aren’t the best choice for smaller spaces due to size limits. Instead of looking into getting a projector, you can get a big-screen TV. These TVs are easier to fit into small rooms or areas while also providing a bigger screen to watch movies. Since space is limited, consider mounting your TV on the wall rather than having it on a stand. Putting it on the wall frees up space and gives you a viewing experience that’s similar to watching a movie on a projector screen.
Decide on Audio Equipment
The quality of your audio equipment is important, but you also need to choose a setup that won’t be too loud for a small space. A soundbar is among the more basic types of audio equipment you can get. However, you should look into other options for better sound, such as 2.1, 3.1, or 5.1 setups. For example, a 2.1 setup typically includes a subwoofer and two speakers. You can go up to a 5.1 configuration, but you should avoid choosing anything larger, like a 7.1 setup.
Select a Video Player
While Blu-ray player or DVD players have been a standard part of home theaters for years now, you don’t necessarily need either in your small home theater. To save space, you can use video streaming apps on your smart TV. These apps make it easy for you to stream your favorite movies or new releases. If you don’t have a smart TV, consider getting a media stick, such as Apple TV or Roku. You can pair one of these with your TV to access and use streaming apps.
Select Seating and Accessories
Your theater should have comfortable seating that doesn’t take up much space. You can use a couple of reclining chairs or a loveseat or sofa with reclining seats to get more of a movie theater experience. Having your seating close to your TV can make it feel like you’re sitting in a movie theater. Depending on how much room you have in your home, you might also be able to get accessories, such as a popcorn maker.
